ARTIST BIO
Marnie Tomczyk (b. 1984) is an artist based in the Blue Mountains, Australia, working on unceded Dharug and Gundungurra land. She studied at the National Art School, Sydney where she majored in printmaking.
Tomczyk's interdisciplinary practice spans printmaking, performance, video, and installation. Her forthcoming solo exhibition A Tender Archaeology will be presented at Braemar Gallery, Springwood in October 2026. Recent group exhibitions include Mixed Dozen at ACU McGlade Gallery, The Divide at Alpha House Gallery, and West: Perspective Place at Mounted ARI.
In 2025, Tomczyk won the Artscene Printmaking Prize and the Rosey Ravelston Art Prize. Her editioned print To Witness a Break is held in the collections of RMIT, Curtin University, the University of Southern Queensland, and the National Art School.
She is one-third of the intergenerational collective White Cross Zines and has been profiled in MTNS MADE magazine. She teaches printmaking workshops at Blue Mountains Creative Arts Centre and volunteers as a gallery keeper at PARI, Parramatta. She is currently undertaking Lenka Clayton's ARiM residency exploring artmaking and caregiving in motherhood, and is developing a memoir examining diaspora communities' world-making practices.
